Guyana advances discussions on bilateral relations with Italy, Finland
President Dr Irfaan Ali recently met with Giorgio Silli, Italy’s Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation. Silli was accompanied by Fabrizio Nicoletti, Italy’s non-resident Ambassador to Guyana. 
The discussions centred on increasing bilateral relations between the two countries. Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation Hugh Todd and Director of Presidential Affairs, Mrs Marcia Nadir-Sharma, also attended the meeting.
The President had also received a courtesy visit from the Finnish Ambassador to Guyana and CARICOM, Pertti Ikonen, to discuss enhanced collaboration, especially in trade between Guyana, the European Union and Finland. 
During the meeting, President Ali emphasised the country’s development trajectory and the Government’s drive to expand the economy through innovative diversification (Office of the President photos)
