A 44-year-old motorcyclist of First Avenue, Bartica, Region Seven is in a critical condition at the Georgetown Public Hospital after he crashed is motorcycle on the Karuw Trail in Cuyuni Mazaruni on Christmas Day.

Police Headquarters, in a statement, noted that the accident occurred at around 16:30 hours. Reports indicate that he was proceeding north along the trail at a fast rate of speed when he lost control of the motorcycle and fell on to the surface, sustaining injuries to his face.

Police said he was picked up by a passerby in an unconscious state and taken to the Bartica Regional Hospital where he was treated for his injuries and subsequently transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital for further treatment.
