THE ongoing 4th edition the Georgetown Softball Cricket League (GSCL)/Prime Minister’s T20 tourney received additional sponsorship compliments of P&P Insurance.

One of Guyana’s most established insurance firms continued their efforts, despite the pandemic, to throw their support behind the annual event and one which they have been a part of from the inception.

During yesterday’s opening round, GSCL president Ian John, following the brief presentation, held upstairs the Everest Cricket Club ground pavilion, said that he was pleased at the gesture by P & P Insurance even during the pandemic.

He said the relationship between the two entities has been solid over the years and as such he was happy to see it persist despite a rough 2020 for all and hoped it will continue into the future.

Meanwhile, P & P Insurance boss, Vikash Panday, explained that he was overwhelmed just to have played a part in the return of live action after months away.

Panday and his company have been sponsoring sports across the board – golf, rifle and pistol shooting, horse racing and cricket to name a few. He said although 2020 has presented a number of hurdles due to COVID-19, he remains firm on his company’s support towards the development of all sports in Guyana.

Meanwhile, the tournament concludes tomorrow with the semis and finals.
