Dear Editor,
WITH an unexplainable degree of frustration, we the residents of Providence Housing Scheme Phase 3 would like the relevant authorities to consider our plight. After over 10 years of application we were fortunate to be granted a plot of land at Providence Housing Scheme Phase 3. Many of us took out mortgages from lending institutions to build a home where we intend to start our families, while others spent their entire life savings with the intention to retire.
Our homes have been completed, while many are in construction; however, our daily lives have been crippled with no water supply. We have made several calls to GWI, who claims that the infrastructure is in place, but they are awaiting authorization from the CH&PA to supply water to the residents. The CH&PA however claims that the responsibility is at the end of GWI. After three years of back and forth between these two organisations, with our monthly mortgage payments, we live on rain water and continue with this burden.
We are asking the Honourable Minister Valerie Patterson, a Minister of the people, to look into our concerns, and please help us so that we can receive water in our homes.
Regards
