REFERENCE is made to an article in the Stabroek News dated Monday, May 29, 2017 with the caption, “Appointment of Deputy REO of Region Three questioned.”
The article was quite an informative one and gave the public a clearer understanding of employment procedures, especially for senior Public Service positions. After reading the article, I believe for the sake of transparency in a modern democracy, the Government of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana – Ministry of Communities should for the benefit of the public release the qualifications of all Regional Executive Officers (REOs) and Deputy REOs.
Should this request be met, then all doubts will definitely be erased and the government should be bold enough to release the qualifications since they campaigned on transparency and real democracy.
