HUNDREDS of residents of Kabakaburi, St Monica and Karawah in the upper Pomeroon River have endorsed presidential candidate Donald Ramotar and pledged their support to the People’s Progressive Party (PPP) at the upcoming national and regional elections. Residents who attended community meetings at Kabakaburi, St Monica and Karawah on Wednesday said Mr. Ramotar will be a good President who will lead the country into the industrial arena.
Amerindians who came out in their numbers at the three meetings to listen to Regional Chairman Mr. Alli Baksh and his delegation, said the government has done well in their communities and they want the PPP/C government to continue in office so that development can continue all across the country.
Several residents said the PPP/C government has fulfilled promises to Amerindians and they are proud to associate with the party.
Former Toshoa of Kabakaburi Mr Edward Smith said Mr. Ramotar will be a good President.
According to Smith, he has known Mr. Ramotar for a long time and he feels the presidential candidate has a lot of experience to continue the developmental drive started by the late father of the nation Dr Cheddi Jagan and continued by the late Mrs. Janet Jagan and current President Bharrat Jagdeo.
Another resident, Mr. Sylvester Davidson, said the party has made a good choice. Mr. Davidson said he feels Mr Ramotar will follow the visions of the late Dr Jagan that will bring betterment to every Guyanese. He said current President Bharrat Jagdeo has done excellently and has moved the country from a ‘begging basket’ in 1992 to a ‘bountiful food basket’ in 2011.
Mr. Davidson said himself, wife and family will support Mr. Ramotar and the PPP at the upcoming elections.
Farmer, Humphrey Smith, said he thinks Ramotar will be a good president and the party has made a wise choice. Mr Smith has pledged his support for the PPP and Mr Ramotar at the elections.
A logger, Mr. Edward Rodrigues , said surely Mr. Ramotar will be  an excellent President and he and his entire family will support him and the PPP at the polls.
Housewife Ms Sanatie Smith said Donald Ramotar is a good choice and will be a good president. She said her family and relatives which are very large at Kabakaburi will all support the PPP and Mr. Ramotar at the upcoming elections
