GUYANA Goldfields Inc., in a release, said that Suresh Kalathil, the Company’s Senior Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer (COO), has left the Company effective March 5, 2020. At this time, the company does not plan on filling the COO position.

Alan Pangbourne, President and CEO of the Company, said, “We thank Suresh for his contributions over the last year and wish him well in his future endeavours.”
At the time of his appointment in January 2019, Mr. Kalathil had more than 25 years’ experience working as a mining engineer in open pit and underground operations and major projects around the world. The company said that he is a Certified First-Class Mine Manager and a trained Six Sigma ‘Black Belt’.

Mr. Kalathil joined Guyana Goldfields from IAMGOLD Corporation, where he served as General Manager of the Rosebel Gold Mine in Suriname.
