PETER Green returned unopposed as president of the Guyana Rugby Football Union (GRFU) when rugby’s local governing body held their Annual General Meeting and bi-annual elections last evening at the National Racquet Centre. Petal Adams returned as Secretary of the GRFU, picking up 24 votes to Terrence Grant’s four while Ryan Gonsalves, Peter Campaign and Esan Griffith were all elected unanimously to the posts of Treasurer, Assistant Secretary Treasurer and Public Relations Officer, respectively.

Green, after the electoral process, noted that one of the areas of focus will be to erase the GRFU’s $5M debt, adding that the new executive will meet this week to charter a new course for the sport which is considered one of the most successful in Guyana.

The re-elected GRFU president shared that he is excited to have new ideas injected into the union by the new members of the executive body. He also thanked the outgoing members of the association.
