THE Altruists Youth Group, in collaboration with the Good Hope/Pomona NDC led by Andy Emmanuel Ramnarine, had the distinct honour of visiting a true local treasure—Ms. Seeta Siriram of Lot 31, Middlesex, who is proudly celebrating her 100th birthday.
Born and raised in Essequibo, Ms. Siriram later made Middlesex her home, where she lovingly raised a remarkable family of fifteen children. During the visit, the team had the pleasure of chatting with Ms. Siriram, who fondly recalled Christmases of long ago in Essequibo. She shared memories of special meals with friends and family and spoke of the long hours she worked to ensure her children received goodies during the holidays. She emphasised that family time, especially during the festive season, is precious and filled with love.
Representing the NDC, Andy Emmanuel Ramnarine shared that he grew up knowing “Aunty Seeta” and celebrated her remarkable achievement. He thanked her family for their time and noted that the village takes pride in having one of its oldest and most cherished members still among them.
Mahindra Sharma, an executive member of the Altruists Youth Group, expressed that the team was delighted to celebrate with one of the village’s oldest residents. He emphasised, “Service is not only about giving; it is about honouring the shoulders upon which we stand.” Meeting Ms. Siriram served as a powerful reminder of the strength, resilience, and love that form the foundation of our communities.
The Altruists Youth Group extends its warmest wishes and heartfelt prayers to Ms. Seeta Siriram. During the visit, she also shared valuable advice with the youth—a testament to her wisdom, generosity, and enduring spirit.
