FOLLOWING the establishment of the Caribbean Boxing Organization (CBO) in April this year, the Caribbean fight scene will ignite in the Christmas season with the first-ever regional professional boxing showcase.
The CBO recently announced that a Boxing Day event is set to take over Georgetown, Guyana.
In a release on Thursday, the newly formed CBO said that the Boxing Day event will be spearheaded by Bris-O Promotions, the CBO’s Guyanese representative spearheaded by Seon Bristol, and promises an electrifying night of Caribbean boxing excellence. Fans can expect 5–6 high-stakes professional matchups featuring some of the region’s most dynamic and accomplished fighters, alongside 2–4 thrilling amateur bouts showcasing the next generation of boxing talent.
Speaking on the upcoming event, a CBO spokesperson shared: “This event is expected to attract boxing fans from across the Caribbean and beyond, uniting the region through sport while shining a spotlight on its elite athletes. With the combined efforts of CBO member promoters, the Boxing Day card is poised to deliver non-stop action, unforgettable moments, and the start of an annual tradition celebrating Caribbean boxing excellence.
The CBO is a collective of leading boxing promoters from across the Caribbean, aiming to elevate professional combat sports in the region by uniting top talent, creating larger platforms and delivering world-class events to Caribbean fans.
The organisation currently comprises promoters representing Guyana, Barbados, Trinidad & Tobago, St. Maarten, The Bahamas, Jamaica, Curaçao, St.Lucia and Grenada, each bringing their fighters and expertise to the ring.
Those elected to serve in April were executive members of the CBO are President – Seon Bristol (Guyana); Vice President Bobby Ottley, (St. Maarten); Secretary, Mr. Ronald Als (Barbados), Assistant Secretary, Ms. Miriam Bynoe (Barbados) and executive member Mr Dexter Patterson (Guyana).
Fight announcements, ticket details, and broadcast information will be released in the coming weeks. Boxing fans are encouraged to follow the CBO’s official channels when released for updates, as the Caribbean prepares for one of the most electrifying sporting events of the year.
