The ONE GUYANA Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel is now in Guyana’s waters, and the occasion will be celebrated with a Yellowtail Local Street Festival on May 3, featuring local food, music, and family-friendly activities.
Minister of Natural Resources, Vickram Bharrat, described the vessel as “a powerful symbol of progress” — not just in oil production, but in creating jobs, boosting local business, and generating more revenue to support national development.
Built by SBM Offshore, the ONE GUYANA FPSO will be used in ExxonMobil’s Yellowtail development within the Stabroek Block. It’s designed to produce up to 250,000 barrels of oil per day and store around two million barrels. Once operations begin later this year, total production from the Stabroek Block is expected to reach about 900,000 barrels per day.
This is the fourth FPSO to operate offshore Guyana, joining the Liza Destiny, Liza Unity, and Prosperity vessels. Its arrival reflects continued investment by ExxonMobil and its partners Hess and CNOOC, in collaboration with the Government of Guyana.
ExxonMobil Guyana Production Manager, Huzefa Ali, said the vessel’s arrival highlights the strong partnership behind the project.
“We are proud to play a role in shaping the energy future of Guyana while creating opportunities and supporting communities,” he stated.
The upcoming Yellowtail Local Street Festival will showcase Guyanese culture, talent, and creativity. It will also serve to highlight the national benefits of the Yellowtail project and the wider energy sector.
The Ministry of Natural Resources has reaffirmed its commitment to managing the sector responsibly, ensuring that development is transparent and that every Guyanese can share in the gains being made.
