THE outgoing Executive Board of Moot Court Guyana recently convened a formal swearing-in ceremony to mark the transition of leadership within the organisation.
The event, conducted in accordance with the procedural guidelines governing Moot Court Guyana’s executive appointments, symbolised the official passing of the torch to the newly elected board members.
The ceremony was attended by prominent legal and academic figures, including Vice Chancellor of the University of Guyana, Dr Paloma Mohamed-Martin; retired Justice Kenneth Benjamin, and several other distinguished guests. The outgoing Master and Mistress of the Moot also participated, offering remarks of encouragement to the incoming leaders.
In their addresses, the speakers collectively emphasised the critical importance of upholding the rule of law, maintaining judicial integrity, and promoting the values that Moot Court Guyana fosters among its members. They highlighted the organisation’s vital role in advancing legal education and advocacy skills.
The new Executive Board, inspired by the words of wisdom imparted during the ceremony, expressed excitement about the upcoming year, which will be filled with legal competitions, professional development opportunities and events aimed at enriching the experience of law students across the country.
