As ‘Because We Care’ cash grant moves to $40,000.

This year, it is expected that each school-aged child will receive $45,000 as the government plans to increase the Ministry of Education’s ‘Because We Care’ cash grant to $40,000.

Finance Minister Dr. Ashni Singh announced this initiative while presenting the 2024 national budget in the National Assembly on Monday.

As part of this cash grant, each child is set to receive an additional $5,000 designated for a uniform grant. These measures, benefiting both public and private school children, collectively amount to a substantial allocation of approximately $9.2 billion.
