A 39-YEAR-OLD man was, on Wednesday, arrested after he was nabbed with over two pounds of cannabis during a Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) operation at Queen’s Street, Kitty, Georgetown.
CANU, in a statement, said its agents acted on information received and conducted a narcotics operation at the location of the arrest.

During the search, the statement continued, CANU officers intercepted the suspect, who was seen acting in a suspicious manner while carrying a black plastic bag.
The suspect is a resident of Thomas Street, Kitty. CANU said during the search two parcels of suspected cannabis were found in the plastic bag.

The accused man was escorted to CANU Headquarters with the suspected narcotics, which tested positive for cannabis. The find weighed a total of 938 grams.
According to CANU, the cannabis carries a street value of approximately $300,000. The investigation is ongoing.
