AN agreement that paves the way for members of the Guyana Police Force to receiving training in various areas of business, electrical and mechanical engineering and computer science was signed by the Guyana Police Force and the Government Technical Institute (GTI) on Monday.
Signing on behalf of the Guyana Police Force was Deputy Commissioner of Police (Administration) (ag), Calvin Brutus and Dr. Renita Crandon-Duncan for the Government Technical Institute (GTI). Dr. Crandon-Duncan is the principal of GTI.
On Monday, the Guyana Police Force signed a similar agreement with the Guyana Industrial Training Centre (GITC) allowing for ranks to be trained in the various areas of studies offered by the institution.
Brutus was accompanied by the Force Training Officer, Superintendent Keithon King; Head of the Strategic Planning Unit, Woman Assistant Superintendent, Nicola Kendall and Police Legal Adviser, Mandell Moore to GTI’s compound, Woolford Avenue where the agreement was signed in the principal’s office.
