THE Customs Anti Narcotic Unit (CANU) on Saturday destroyed over 1,500 Kg (almost 3400 lbs) of cannabis valued over U.S.$2 million.
The exercise was done at the old Ministry of Housing compound, Homestretch Avenue, Georgetown.

The narcotics destroyed were drugs seized by CANU during the previous year. The narcotics-destruction exercise was observed by the Home Affairs Minister, Robeson Benn; Permanent Secretary, Mae Toussaint Jr Thomas; head of CANU James Singh, and other senior members of the unit.
