Georgetown maul Upper Demerara by 129 runs
A RAMPANT Georgetown side ripped through Upper Demerara to claim their third win as the DCB U15 Inter-Association competition continued yesterday.
The day was blessed with bright sunshine. Georgetown won the toss and chose to take first strike, recording a well composed 183 all out from 46.1 overs. Opener Lomar Seecharran scored a useful 39 and was supported by Reyaz Latif’ (33 mot out) while middle-order batter Dhanesh Persaud chipped in with 27 and captain Dave Mohabir with 13.
Left-arm pacer Dishon Ashby snatched 4-29 while Corey Charles and spinner Keron Phillips collected 2-26 and 2-34 respectively. Shaukel Fiedtkou claimed 1 for 16.
Upper Demerara struggled and fell for 54 from just 19.1 overs as pacer Shane Prince clinched 3-12, Johnathan Mentore took 2 for 11 and Darwin La Rose, Kwesi Wilkinson and Joshua Charles collected a wicket each.
Georgetown won by a convincing 129 runs.
In the upcoming game tomorrow, East Coast will oppose West Demerara at Enmore ground at 09:30hrs.
