THE LUSIGNAN Golf Club will host a birthday golf tournament today at its nine-hole golf course on the East Coast of Demerara.

The annual Pandit Ravi and Robert Hanoman 18-hole Birthday Golf Tournament is expected to tee off at 12:30hrs via a stableford format.
Some 41 golfers had registered up to yesterday afternoon for the competition.

Once on their respective tee boxes, players must await the sounding of the horn or siren to tee off.
Prizes will be awarded to the top five finishers, the nearest to the pin on hole 4, and the longest drive on hole 5.

According to information from one of the sponsors, Pandit Ravi, the event is also geared to promote golf as a major sport in Guyana.
