MEMBERS of the Essequibo Cricket Board on Thursday visited the Wakenaam Cricket Committee and interacted with members.

According to the president of ECB, Daleep Singh, the visit is part of the board’s plan to engage all area committees and to listen to their concerns.
During the meeting he shared ECB’s plans on the promotion of cricket in the various communities.

He also emphasised the importance of inclusivity and explained the need for everyone’s participation so as to further develop the sport on the island.

The ECB head informed the Area Committee that very soon his board will embark on a coaching clinic for U-15, U-17 and U-19 players in the cricketing region, where the sessions will be conducted by professional personnel from Trinidad and Tobago.

Singh also informed the gathering that he is working around the clock to ensure that inter-county cricket comes back to Essequibo.

The president during his visit also made a donation of cricket balls to the Cricket Committee and promised another visit shortly with other cricket equipment.
