(Loop Caribbean News) Phillip Davis has been sworn in as the Prime Minister of the Bahamas.
Davis was sworn in at a ceremony on Friday afternoon, hours after his Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) defeated the Free National Movement (FNM) in a snap general election.
The PLP won 32 of the 39 seats in the National Assembly, reversing the 35-4 defeat it suffered in 2017.
Davis’ swearing-in took place behind closed doors and the media were not invited to cover the ceremony. The 70-year-old is the fifth Prime Minister of The Bahamas. His full cabinet is expected to be revealed soon.
