-at Offshore Technology Conference in Texas
THE Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company (GTT), on Wednesday, said that it has managed to garner the attention of many international companies interested in operating in Guyana’s oil and gas sector. The telecoms provider participated in this year’s Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) hosted in Houston, Texas.
Members of the company’s Business Solutions team revealed that so far, the conference has been a success. “The main aim of our involvement in the conference was to represent Guyana as the number one provider of 21st century business solutions, and showcase our unmatched capabilities in the ICT space,” said Orson Ferguson, Chief Operations Officer of Business Solutions at GTT. “We have been serving businesses in Guyana for over 30 years.
With the rapid developments in the oil and gas sector, we have been meeting the needs of companies operating in Guyana like Exxon, Halliburton, Schlumberger, etc., and we wanted other companies interested in operating in Guyana, to know that we have the network and capabilities to meet their needs, and today we have done that,” he added. The conference allows energy professionals to meet and exchange ideas and opinions to advance scientific and technical knowledge for offshore resources. It also brings together industry leaders, investors, buyers, and entrepreneurs to develop markets and business partnerships. GTT is part of the delegation representing Guyana. The local team was given the opportunity to advertise its resources to over 59,000 energy professionals from more than 100 countries. The GTT team was also present at the Guyana Night hosted on Wednesday evening. Approximately 400 representatives from various international and local companies were said to be in attendance. The conference concludes today.
