TWO bandits invaded the home of a family of Recht-Door-Zee, West Bank Demerara (WBD), and robbed them of cash and jewellery on Monday.
During the confrontation, one of the suspects shot one of the victims in the leg, before they both made good their escape in a waiting vehicle.
The victim was rushed to the West Demerara Regional Hospital at Leonora, where he is currently receiving medical treatment.
Police said that the family was robbed of $200,000 in cash, a quantity of gold jewellery, including wedding bands, and electronic items.
