A man, who was allegedly found with 18 grammes of cocaine in his pants waist, appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court and was placed on $100,000 bail by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan.
Angelo Lupe of John Street, Lodge, denied that, on April 13, 2021, at North Road, Bourda, Georgetown, he had in his possession18 grammess of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
According to the prosecution, on the day in question between 16:00hrs and 17:00 hrs, ranks of the Narcotics Branch, who were acting on information received, proceeded to North Road where Lupe was contacted. A search was immediately conducted on his person and the cocaine, which was secured in a transparent bag, was allegedly found in his left side pants waist.
Lupe was shown the narcotic, told of the offence committed and cautioned. He was arrested and subsequently charged.
The matter was adjourned until May 17, 2021.
