A 47-year-old Linden businessman was arrested on Tuesday after the mother of his child reported to the police that he threatened to harm her.
In police custody is Toriano Jeffers of Lot 556 Block 22, Wismar, Linden.
According to police, after a report on the threat was made against Jeffers by the mother of his child, he attempted to flee but was apprehended.
“A search was conducted on his person but nothing was found. A search was then conducted in the haversack he was carrying on his back and one suspected .32 silver and black Lorgin L390 pistol with serial# 243966 with one magazine inserted, and containing two .38 ammunition, were found in the said haversack,” police said.
He was arrested and escorted to the McKenzie Police Station, along with the firearm, magazine and ammunition. Charges are expected to be instituted shortly.
