THE Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club (GMR&SC) has announced its first Drag Racing event of the year, set for February 28.
Making the announcement, president Rameez Mohamed contended that the club is looking at a new way of bringing the sport to spectators.
“This year, due to the COVID-19 restrictions, we are looking to have the event live-streamed. That way we can still maintain the audience that we have.”
“In addition to that, we are also saying to the drivers, bring only who you need. While this is an event, we want to keep the crowd as minimal as possible.”
The GMR&SC boss indicated that sponsors are also rallying behind the idea of limited spectators, adding too that a lot of companies will be coming on board in the future.
Competitors are asked to register early via the club at 231-5457.
