A PARTY of police led by a detective inspector, on Tuesday, conducted a raid exercise at Plum Park, Sophia and Liliendaal which led to the discovery and seizure of a quantity of cannabis, a firearm and items suspected to be stolen. According to a police press release, the cordon and search/raid exercises were conducted between 04:30 hours and 08:00 hours.
During the exercise, a total of 848 grams of suspected cannabis along with one suspected .38 special revolver, two XR and two Honjue motorcycles, one 65″ TCL television, two laptop computers, a quantity of electrical and non-electrical tools, one pressure washer, one weeding machine, one motorcycle number plate, a JPS1 trade plate, $395,000 cash and a quantity of gold jewellery were found. All the items are suspected to be unlawfully obtained. Several persons were arrested and are in police custody pending investigations.
