
AFTER being on the run for almost eight months, two men appeared at the Charity Magistrate’s Court on a robbery-under-arms charge, and were released on $150, 000 bail each by Magistrate Esther Sam.
Charles Abrams, a 28-year-old miner of Henrietta Housing Scheme, Essequibo Coast, and Travis Persaud, a 28-year-old labourer of Anna Regina Market Street, also on the Essequibo Coast, denied the allegation when it was read to them.
It is alleged that on May 3, 2020, at Mashabo, Essequibo Coast, while being armed with dangerous weapons, they robbed Rudranauth Chandrika, 18, of a Lifan motorcycle valued at $ 220, 000.
According to the information reaching this publication, the accused were arrested on January 14.
They will return to court on February 12.
