A SIXTEEN-year-old mother of one, who returned home from a party on Christmas night, found her Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo house on fire.

Police Headquarters, in a statement, noted that the fire occurred at about 20:00 hours on December 25; it was a wooden structure that had no electricity.

Police said the victim resided there with her child, and the father of her child, Kesshon Smith, who is a gold miner.
The Leonora Fire Service was summoned and immediately went into action, however, the house was completely destroyed. Investigations are ongoing.
