THE ten cricket teams of the Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club (RHTYSC) last Tuesday continued to attract support from a number of prominent corporate entities countrywide.
The donations were received by Club Secretary/CEO and Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) president Hilbert Foster and vice-president Mark Papannah during a visit to Georgetown.

Among the teams receiving were Poonai Pharmacy Under-12 and Under-13, Farfan and Mendes Ltd Under-15, Bakewell Under-17 and Second Division, Pepsi Under-19 and Intermediate, NAMILCO Thunderbolt Under-21 and First Division and Metro Females who will be hosting a series of charity projects under their annual Christmas Outreach programme.
Overseas-based honorary member Dr Tulsi Dyal Singh contributed $100 000 worth of Christmas toys while assistance was also received from Mr A. M. Khan of A. M. Khan Hardware Store located at LBI, Mr Ronald Williams of Apex Insurance Broker, Ms Dione Lewis of The Gift Centre, John Lewis of John Lewis Styles and Jamie McDonald of Fitness Express.
Foster expressed gratitude to the donors and stated that they are all long-time supporters of Guyana’s leading youth and sports organisation. Mr McDonald noted that for the year, his business had closed off all donations to organisations due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic but RHTYSC is one organisation that deserves to be assisted.

Mr AM Khan hailed the club and its 10 cricket teams for their outstanding contributions to society, especially making a positive difference in the lives of the
elderly and less fortunate. He committed to continuing the support as long as he enjoys good health in the future.
The 2020 Christmas Programme of the ten teams would officially start on Monday 7th of December with the distribution of hampers to less fortunate families.
A total of one thousand food hampers valued at $4 000 each will be distributed across Berbice to less fortunate families. The families were identified by a Special Committee of the club, who visited different communities.
The teams would also share out 5 000 Christmas toys to children drawn from less fortunate and single parent households.
The club would donate toys to religious places of worship across the county and they would share them out to children in their areas.
