A BABY GIRL, age unknown, was found floating in a canal at Crane Squatting Area, West Coast Demerara, on Saturday.

Police said they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the alleged murder of the female toddler.
The body, which measures twelve inches in length, was discovered naked, floating with the face upwards and the left hand missing.

Ranks took the body to the West Demerara Regional Hospital, where the toddler was officially pronounced dead.
The body is at the Ezekiel Funeral Parlour awaiting an autopsy as investigations continue.
