Noshavyah King heads new Guyana Gym Owners and Trainers Association

A mixture of experienced and professional individuals in the fitness industry recently teamed up to form the Guyana Gym Owners and Trainers Association (GGOTA).

According to a release, the association was officially registered yesterday and will be headed by owner of Genesis Fitness Gym, Noshavyah King, Guyana’s only licensed Zumba instructor.

Yannick Grimes and Roger Callender are the vice-presidents of the Association; Secretary is Jordana Ramsay-Gonsalves; Treasurer Kimberly Dos Santos and Assistant Secretary/Treasurer is Semonica Duke.

Emmerson Campbell will serve as the group’s Public Relations Officer and Neil Barry as Committee Member.

Birthed out of a group conversation due to the closure of gyms and the subsequent loss of revenue for trainers and gym owners owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, the association aims to build and represent a structured community for the betterment of the local fitness industry as a whole with focus on addressing the immediate and long-term problems.

Gym Owners and Fitness Trainers Association is described as an association formed by the fitness industry for the fitness industry.

Their mission, the newly-formed Association said, is to improve the health of the nation by encouraging people to be more active, more often.

The Guyana Gym Owners and Trainers Association, via a release, vowed to selflessly work together and continue identifying problem areas in the fitness hemisphere and bring about improvements that would benefit all stakeholders across the country in a non-biased manner.
