THE newest Attorney-at-Law admitted to the Bar is Patricia Lorraine Shepherd. She was admitted to practise law in the Courts of Guyana on Monday before the Honourable Justice Gino Persaud.

Her application was presented by Attorney-at-Law Kim Kyte-Thomas, in association with Attorneys-at-Law Sharon Small and Faye Barker.
The application was heard, via Zoom, and was attended by her parents, Liloutie Seymour and Richard Shepherd and other family members.

Shepherd holds a Legal Education Certificate (LEC) from the Hugh Wooding Law School, which she obtained on April 20, 2020. She is also an internationally accredited civil/commercial mediator, which she obtained from Alternative Dispute Resolution – Online Dispute Resolution International, London, United Kingdom in 2018.
Shepherd holds a Bar Professional Training Certificate from the BPP Law School, Leeds, United Kingdom, which she obtained in 2018, and was admitted to practise as a Barrister before the Courts of England and Wales in November 2018.

She also holds a Bachelor of Laws with (Hons), which she received in 2016 from the University of London. Shepherd comes to the profession armed with a Diploma in Business Management, and a Certificate in Industrial Relations and Management.

She is now attached as an Associate at the Law Firm of Kyte Small Barker, Attorneys-at-Law.

Justice Persaud welcomed her to the Bar, and impressed upon her the importance of preparation in the conduct of her practice, and encouraged her to rely on the training she received at the Hugh Wooding Law School and the BPP Law School in London.
In turn, Shepherd thanked the honourable judge for granting her application. She paid homage to her family for their support and motivation throughout her journey. She also thanked God for his never-ending grace, mercy and provision during her journey, and thanked the law firm of Kyte Small Barker for their training and support.
