Dear Editor,
The executive committee and members of the WPA are surprised and shocked by news of the passing of longstanding-member, Denys Vaughn-Cooke, which occurred on the morning, March 10, 2020 in the USA. While we knew he was ailing for some time, the news of his passing is devastating. Denys’ relationship with WPA is rooted in his years of association with a number of its senior members prior to the formation of the party, his membership of the WPA Support Group in the Washington DC Metropolitan area in the USA and the tremendous financial and other support he gave to the party in its struggle at the national and international levels. He will be remembered as an unwavering fighter for the unity of the working people in Guyana and the diaspora. Collectively we mourn his passing at this crisis point in the nation. To his family and relatives, WPA offers his condolences and thank you for sharing this wonderful son of Guyana with our party and Guyana at large.
