A NEW Amsterdam man was taken into custody Sunday morning after he was found with three parcels of suspected cannabis which weighed approximately 465 grammes.

The Guyana Police Force in a statement on Sunday said that acting on information, ranks of Central Police Station, at about 10:30hrs proceeded to the route 56 bus park, located at the New Amsterdam Stelling Road, and arrested a man.

The police explained that the man, who resides at Ferry Street, New Amsterdam, Berbice, was found with three parcels of suspected cannabis, which when weighed, amounted to 465 grammes.

He is being processed for court.
