A POPULAR rice farmer, Bissoonnnauth Ramnarine, called “Lora” of Devonshire Castle, Old Road, Region Two, lost his life Friday afternoon, after he rode into the back of a minibus. The accident allegedly occurred around 15:45hrs.
Ramnarine was allegedly under the influence of alcohol when he lost control
of his motorbike and slammed into the back of a minibus heading in the same direction. The impact caused him to end up in the path of another minibus heading in the opposite direction.
He was picked up in an unconscious state by residents and was subsequently rushed to the Suddie Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Both minibus drivers were detained by police, pending investigation.
