MAGISTRATE Rondel Weever, on Thursday, November 28, 2019, sentenced a 57-year-old man to an additional one year in prison for trafficking 6.6 grams of cocaine.
Aundre Singh, a businessman of Diamond, appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court and changed his plea from not guilty to guilty.
Hence, Magistrate Weever sentenced him to one year in prison.
Singh and 66-year-old Clifford Gouveia, a taxi driver, was, months before, sentenced to three and a half years in prison and fined $11.7M by Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus after they were found guilty at the end of the trial.
The men denied the charge which stated that, on October 3, 2018, at the Rupert Craig Highway, in the vicinity of the Kitty seawall, between Pere Street and Queen Street, they had 5.582 kilograms of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
