CHIEF Magistrate Ann McLennan, on Wednesday November 27, 2019, remanded a 26-year-old Mechanic to prison, on an attempted murder charge.
Feraz Narine of Grove appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court and was not required to plead to the indictable charge.
Particulars of the charge stated that, on November 21, 2019, at Diamond, he wounded Teon Archer with intent to maim, disfigure or cause grievous bodily harm.
Police Prosecutor Neville Jeffers objected to bail being granted to Narine, based on the nature of the offence, and told the court that, on the day in question, Narine and Archer had a physical confrontation.
Jeffers added that Narine pulled out a knife and stabbed Archer about his body. Archer was picked up and rushed to the Diamond hospital and was later transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation in a critical condition.
Narine was arrested and charged.
Magistrate McLennan, after listening to the Prosecutor, remanded Narine to prison until December 10, 2019.
