FIFTY-SEVEN-YEAR-OLD Erick Ghansham called ‘Cook Soup’ and ‘Allen’ was, on Tuesday morning, found dead in his lot 4 Hague Public Road West Coast Demerara house.

Police sources told the Guyana Chronicle that the man was normally checked on by his 19-year-old friend. The latter became worried after not hearing from, or seeing, Ghansham for a few days, and therefore decided to go and make a check at his house. Upon entering the yard, he reportedly began getting a strong stench, but nevertheless continued to make his way into the yard, where he found the 57-year-old bicycle repairman’s decomposing remains in the lower flat of the house. He immediately exited the house and raised an alarm which saw persons coming out and which subsequently resulted in the police being summoned to the scene. Crime scene and forensic ranks arrived at the location and took ‘possession’ of the scene and began combing the area for clues. No marks of violence were found on the body.
