The Guyana Tourism Authority launches tourism expo with Suriname and French Guiana

THE Guyana Tourism Authority, in collaboration with the Republic of Suriname and French Guiana, on Thursday, launched the Tourism Expo of the Guianas.

The launch was held at the Marriot Hotel where the Director General of the Department of Tourism, Donald Sinclair, noted that the upcoming tourism event, scheduled for February 2020, was a collaborated effort between the three Guianas to strengthen the links of the three countries and promote the diverse richness of the food, culture, and people of the Guianas.

The Tourism Expo of the Guianas is expected to promote tourism in the three Guianas. The expo will be held in Guyana and will commence on February 6, 2020 and end on February 9, 2020.

The expo will see a series of cultural programmes, displaying the dances, festivals, food and clothing of the Guianas.

In 2021 the expo will be held in Suriname, followed by French Guiana in 2022.
