CEON Ray, 21, of Sussex Street, Campbellville, Albouystown, was, on Thursday, September 12, 2019, sentenced to three years’ imprisonment by Magistrate Rhondel Weaver, after he was found guilty of robbing a couple.
It is alleged that, on June 15, 2019, at Kingston Seawall, he robbed Ishan Singh of a quantity of items totalling $56,000.
It is also alleged that, on June 15, 2019, at Kingston Seawall, he robbed Tyrel Chu of two phones valued at $10,000 along with other items valued at $7,000.
Magistrate Weaver sentenced Ray to three years’ imprisonment on each of the charges and ordered that the sentences run concurrently.
The court heard that Tyrel Chu and Ishan Singh are a couple and, on the day in question, they were having lunch at the Kingston Seawall when they were attacked from behind by Ray and Ally, the two accused, who shouted: “don’t move or we gon shoot,” while taking away, from the two victims, the items mentioned in the charge.
The couple raised an alarm and a police patrol which was nearby managed to nab the two men. Ally had pleaded guilty and was sentenced to two and a half years’ imprisonment.
