A YOUNG businessman was robbed of cash and valuables by two armed bandits just after he returned to his Overwinning Village home on Monday night.
Ryanto Albert, 25, and his father Deonarine Albert, had earlier left their business place at 14 Pitt Street, New Amsterdam for home. But, as they were entering their yard, the duo were confronted by two armed men.
Fearful, the elder Deonarine fled the scene, leaving his son at the mercy of the partially-masked bandits. One gunman hit Ryanto on his head while his accomplice robbed him of $150,000 cash and an Iphone. Following the attack, the thieves discharged a round in the air, before escaping.
The victim was taken to the New Amsterdam Hospital where he is being treated.
Police investigators have recovered a .45 spent shell at the scene. This is the second time the Alberts have been robbed in recent times. Investigations are continuing.
