THE Guyana Amateur Powerlifting Federation (GAPF) will be sending nine athletes to compete at this year’s South American Powerlifting and Bench Press Equipped and Classic Championships, set for September 17–22, in Uruguay.

Runita White, Nadina Taharally, Natoya Robinson, Lisa Oudit, Bjorn Williams, Franklin Brisport, Frank Tucker, Noel Cummings and Nairanjan Singh are the athletes who are set to depart Guyana on September 15 for the Spanish-speaking South American country.
In a lead-up to the team’s departure, Chronicle Sport will feature every week those medal hopefuls.
Today we start with 23-year-old Runita White, the country’s National record-holder in 84+ kg category. She’s also the first woman to squat 400+ lb Unequipped at the Senior Nationals Championship 2018. She started competing in 2018, doing so in both Junior and Open categories.
