FIVE persons were arrested by ranks attached to the Criminal Investigation Department, Central Police Station, New Amsterdam, on Thursday in connection with a series of robberies in Berbice.

Guyana Chronicle has been reliably informed that among the five arrested, three are related while two others are said to have kept the stolen articles from robberies committed. Several items, including jewellery and cellular phones, were recovered from the men.

The gang identified themselves by the name “Scare Dem Crew”.
Last week, about five robberies occurred in Angoy’s Avenue. One person has since confessed to the robberies as police continue their investigation.
