NATIONAL footballer, Jobe Caesar, has been sentenced to six months imprisonment for wounding a police corporal.

On Friday at the Magistrates’ Court, Magistrate Dylon Bess found Caesar, 20, of Leopold Street, Georgetown, guilty of committing the offence.

On September 3, 2018, while at East Ruimveldt, Georgetown, Caesar unlawfully and maliciously wounded Police Corporal Kerry Joseph.

According to reports, Caesar had a sexual relationship with the police officer’s girlfriend.
On the day in question, the victim went to his girlfriend’s, (Jennifer Validen’s), Pineapple Street, East Ruimveldt home, and found her in Caesar’s lap in a compromising position.
It is alleged that the victim and his girlfriend had an argument and Caesar intervened.
Caesar attacked the officer and dealt him a punch to his face. He then allegedly snatched the officer’s service revolver and pointed it at him.

The officer left and reported the matter to the East Ruimveldt Police Outpost, and Caesar was subsequently arrested and charged.

The footballer is also currently before the court for robbing Validen and damaging her $3.5M motor car.
