–to celebrate Bromeliad’s 10th
TWO years ago, Fifty Shades of MUA (Makeup Artist) made its debut, with over 200 Guyanese makeup artists, beauty queens and other special invitees packing the Banquet Hall at Tower Hotel. It was created as a networking event for people with like interests in the local industry.
This year, it has returned, and is causing much anticipation in the local glamour world. This high-fashion event is taking the form of a Red Carpet Gala, and is set to be held at the same venue as the last, Tower Hotel’s Banquet Hall this Sunday.
Fifty Shades of MUA was created by renowned makeup artist Renee Chester, who is the owner of BROMELIAD.rnc.
In an interview with ‘The Buzz’, Chester said that the event will be bringing all makeup lovers together, and will be hosted as a high-class fashion where persons will have the opportunity to wear their very best in terms of makeup skills and styling, and make use of the red carpet and multiple photographers that will be available at the venue.
She said that the nature of Fifty Shades of MUA this year is a grand celebration of her being in the makeup business for 10 years.
“Myself, Clinton Duncan and Jamicia McCalman will be hosting, with assistance by Tamika Henry. We have entertainment in the form of song and dance, but both performances are to be a surprise, so I can’t even give you more than I just did,” laughed Renee.
She said that most of her plans are to come as a surprise to her supporters and fellow sisters in the business, so nothing else was disclosed.
However, she noted that there are many prizes to be won, the grandest being a trip to Trinidad to study with the makeup artist who taught her.
Not revealing much of the surprises are not hindering the support, but rather, is stirring much curiosity and anticipation for the event on Sunday. On the social media platforms, scores of people have been expressing their eagerness.
Tickets can be purchased at BROMELIAD.rnc located on Queen Street, two buildings before WindJammer Hotel.
