OVER the past weekend, GCC Bingo Spartans, Saints, Hikers Cadets and Old Fort Ballerz all racked up wins when the Guyana Hockey Board (GHB)/Bounty Paper/Solo Drink U-20 and second division leagues resumed at Saints ground.

The Spartans duly dispatched GCC counterparts Her-Ricanes 8-0 with Abosaide Cadogan, Paige Fernandes and Makeda Harding notching a brace each while Madison Fernandes and Sarah Klautky scored one goal apiece in that U-20 fixture.

In another Girls’ U-20 fixture, Saints thrashed YMCA Old Fort Bellas 9-0 with a hat-trick from Maria Seegobin while Charlia Webb and Cherub Outar struck the back of the net twice each. Nia Williams and Clayza Bobb were the other players to score.

Meanwhile, in the Men’s 2nd Division action, Hikers Cadets inflicted a 7-0 drubbing on YMCA Old Fort Rusty with Colonel Haywood picking up a hat-trick while Devin Munroe netted a brace. Sherwyn Caesar and Brian Asregado were the other names on the scoresheet.

In the same division, Bounty GCC and SHC Savages played to a goalless draw while GCC Sequel beat SHC Shockwaves with Patrick Edghill scoring all four goals. The latter then suffered a 3-0 loss to Old Fort Aces.

On Sunday when the Men’s 2nd division continued, SHC Savers pipped Hikers Cadets 2-1. The latter then suffered their second loss of the day against Old Fort Aces (1-3). Bounty GCC also beat Shockwaves 3-1.

Sequel were also winners as veteran Philip Fernandes scored a hat-trick in his side’s 5-0 win over Old Fort Rusty.
Action will resume at the same venue on Saturday and continue on Sunday.
