St John’s College, Lodge push through to next round

ST JOHN’S College and Lodge Secondary are the last two schools to secure semi-final spots in the ongoing Milo schools football tournament 2019.
In the battle of Georgetown-based schools, St John’s overcame St Stanislaus College 4-3.
The St Stanislaus scorers Josiah King (56th), Daniel Persaud (32nd) and Jerimiah Sampson (35th) were unable to outscore their opponents.

Akeel Bennette (32nd), Tyreke Saunders (44th), Jaheim McPherson (58th) and Jared Corrica (76th) were the men responsible for the win.
In the other game, Lodge overcame Tucville 5-3.

Lodge profited off a pair of braces from Dorwin George (18th, 22nd) and Curt Edwards (29th,, 69th) as well as Shemroy Myers 34th minute strike.
Tucville, on the other hand, had a double from Dawange Jones (62nd, 73rd) and Simeon Benn (17th).

From next weekend, quarter-finals action gets going.
On Saturday, Charlestown will play Annandale from 13:00hrs with Bishops’ High taking on President’s College at 15:00hrs.

On Sunday, Linden’s Christianburg/Wismar will play Vergenoegen while Lodge and St John’s College will clash for the last semi-final spot.
The tournament is also sponsored by the Ministry of Public Health.
