DERRICK Solomon, a 60-year-old man of 10 Block F’ North Sophia was on Tuesday remanded to prison by city Magistrate Fabayo Azore for attempting to kill his lover.

Particulars of the charge read that March 2, 2019, at North Sophia, the defendant wounded Carol London with intent to commit murder.

According to the prosecutor Gordon Mansfield, the two have been sharing a common-law relationship for 14 years. On the day in question, they reportedly had a misunderstanding at home; Solomon left the house, but then later returned and attacked the victim with a knife, dealing her several stab wounds,

She was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital and is in a serious condition. The defendant was later arrested.

Bail was not granted, due to the seriousness of the offence. The matter has been adjourned to March, 26, 2019.
