TWENTY-THREE- YEAR-OLD Lisa Halley was on Wednesday committed to stand trial in the High Court for allegedly killing her husband during a domestic dispute.

Halley was undergoing a preliminary inquiry (PI) for manslaughter before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly. The charge alleged that on July 29, 2017, at Lot 30 Queen Street, Kitty, she unlawfully killed Dailson Halley.

On Wednesday, at the conclusion of the PI, the magistrate was satisfied that a prima facie case had been made out against the accused. Halley will remain out on $250,000 bail.
According to reports, the couple had been together for the past three years and had two children. During that time, Lisa Halley had been abused frequently. The man would, reportedly, force his wife into prostitution and would usually take away whatever cash she made.

However, on Friday, July 29, 2017, at Queen Street, Kitty during an argument, the woman stabbed her husband. The man had reportedly armed himself with a knife and threatened to kill her. Halley managed to disarm her husband and used the same knife to stab him.
The injured man was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) where he succumbed.
