Demerara Mutual Company Secretary, James Morgan said that the agreement was reached after three rounds of negotiations, and has to do with workers’ pay from January 2018. He said that they managed to agree on across-the-board payment.

CCWU President Sherwood Clarke thanked the ministry for accommodating the signing, and at the end of it all they are pleased to have come to a mutual agreement.

Chief Labour Occupational Safety and Health Officer, Charles Ogle said he is pleased with the dialogue and collective bargaining negotiations between Demerara Mutual and the CCWU in which the ministry counter-signed.
